Maasai Tradition says that, in the beginning of time all cattle on earth was assigned to Maasai. They see the herds of other tribes as stolen, and cannot understand why, after a raid, they should be imprisoned. All Maasai things are derived from cattle.their homesteads serve as kraal where man and livestock sleep at night and their diet consists of smoked milk and yogurt. Boys herd livestock until they are circumcised and become warriors. After seven years warriors are allowed to retire and marry.Elders offer counsel, settle disputes and oversee the cattle herds. The passage from one of these age groups into the next is marked by ritual and ceremony. Death is an impolite topic, useless to discuss.
